I spent one week at The Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge in Ivins, Utah in October 2012. Since that time I am a new person and I can’t thank Fitness Ridge enough. I think if I let him, even my husband would write a review thanking Fitness Ridge. My mother is a personal trainer and 15 years ago I ran marathons, but none of my mother's advice or my former knowledge about fitness and diet could help me lose the weight I gained after my two pregnancies. Miraculously, Fitness Ridge did it. I left the resort 5lbs lighter, with my cardio ability restored, and with a plan that is actually working. I could cry (and I have cried) from relief and happiness.  I have lost a total of 11lbs in the first month and will continue working to reach my goal.

Before I came to the resort I was more than stuck, I was sinking. On the rare days when I could break free from the demands of two kids and a job and actually get myself into a gym, I'd show up with no motivation. I'm ashamed to admit that more-often than not, I would read my cell-phone while I barely pedaled on an exercise bike. I'd basically surf the web for 8 minutes and then leave. The weight wasn't coming off and what was worse, my skin was saggy, I had no muscle tone, and I was tired all the time. I was over-eating the wrong types of foods in an attempt to fuel myself as I dragged through my days.

When I made my reservation at Fitness Ridge I hoped it would kick start my weight loss. But, I was a skeptic. I had real fears that – knowing my history – I would work out while I was at the resort, and then come home the same sluggish person.

I am here to tell you, the resort gave me things I didn't dream possible. I learned how to eat at my personal metabolic rate, and that I'm NOT HUNGRY (relief!!). I feel strong and energized and am regularly getting to the gym. I learned that motivation sometimes comes from the outside through music, trainers, classes, and friends. I also learned to focus on "weight management" rather than "weight loss" – a simple way of thinking that has single-handedly kept me from falling off the wagon at home.

Honestly, my single week at Fitness Ridge was life changing. I have a zest for life that I thought was gone forever. Not to mention the fact that I fit in my sister’s jeans, even though she’s ten years younger than me. On two occasions I've lost significant amounts of weight in my life and I would not call either of the experiences easy – but the information and strength I gained at Fitness Ridge is making this time easy (well at least not hard). It's difficult for me to believe how easy it has been!

I have nothing but good things to say about the Biggest Loser Resort's workouts, hikes, food, staff, and lectures. The entire program was so thoughtful. It still baffles me that one week at Fitness Ridge successfully changed my habits and renewed my spirit. Thank you Fitness Ridge! I will forever owe you!
